Muriel, the founder of Flax & Stitch, has her head full of ideas and wishes that the days could last longer than 24 hours! Photographer and eco-responsible mom, she wanted to create effective zero waste solutions to limit the use of plastic bags, aluminum foil and other disposable packaging.
Back in 2007, all this came together and Flax & Stitch was born!
Flax, which means 'lucky charm' in Swedish, is the name of a golden retriever that Muriel had welcomed into her family just before launching her project. He arrived as a gift in her life at a very special time ... 'Stitch' was added to cover the textile design and craft aspect of the brand.

We remain a family owned business, based in Belgium. We want to help our customers reduce their usage of disposable items. We focus on zero waste products: PUL Based - reusable freezer bags, sandwich/snack bags and wraps. 100% Oekotex/Organic Cotton bread bags. Reusable make-up and kitchen wipes. Bulk bags etc etc.
Our motivation is not profit, but creating a sustainable business with balanced rewards for our customers, our retail partners, our suppliers and our company.
Our goal is to have as many people as we can reach, enjoying our reusable products and reducing their environmental impact.
We don't pay to advertise. We believe in the quality of our products and service - if you're happy, please tell your friends!

On 'Earth Day' 2021 we became members of 1% for the Planet, an organisation which brings together businesses across the world, from large companies (Patagonia, OXO) to small business such as Flax & Stitch, all of whom commit to contributing 1% of their annual sales revenue to a variety of environmental projects around the world.
Back in 2007, all this came together and Flax & Stitch was born!

On 'Earth Day' 2021 we became members of 1% for the Planet, an organisation which brings together businesses across the world, from large companies (Patagonia, OXO) to small business such as Flax & Stitch, all of whom commit to contributing 1% of their annual sales revenue to a variety of environmental projects around the world.

Tree-Nation
On 'Earth Day' 2022 we decided to partner with Tree-Nation to plant trees in reforestation projects around the world. We commit to plant 1 tree for every €20 spent in our eShop - with a minimum of 1 tree per order. In addition, to encourage and reward delivery via Mondial Relay, we will add an extra tree when Mondial Relay is chosen as the shipping method.
How does this work?
On 'Earth Day' 2022 we decided to partner with Tree-Nation to plant trees in reforestation projects around the world. We commit to plant 1 tree for every €20 spent in our eShop - with a minimum of 1 tree per order. In addition, to encourage and reward delivery via Mondial Relay, we will add an extra tree when Mondial Relay is chosen as the shipping method.
How does this work?
- For each order, we work out the number of trees to be planted:
- eg: €65 via Mondial Relay = (65/20) + 1 = 3 + 1 = 4 trees
- Every 2-4 weeks we advise Tree-Nation how many trees to plant.
- If you chose to join our mailing list during check-out, you will receive an email from Tree-Nation confirming:
- the species and location of the trees to be planted in your name
- that some virtual trees are also waiting to be planted in the Flax & Stitch forest under your name.
- you can also download a certificate signed by the manager of the plantation project and contains all the important information about the tree: the species, location, plantation project information, CO2 compensation values and much more.
- If you chose not to join our mailing list during check-out, please rest assured, we will still plant the trees you earned via your order but will do so in an anonymous batch.
- Over time, thanks to your support, plus additional contributions on our part, we will all be able to observe the Flax & Stitch forest growing in size and track the CO2 Compensation it generates.

Nous nous engageons à planter 1 arbre pour 20 € dépensés dans notre eShop - avec un minimum de 1 arbre par commande. De plus, pour encourager et récompenser la livraison via Mondial Relay, nous ajouterons un arbre supplémentaire lorsque Mondial Relay sera choisi comme mode d'expédition.
Comment cela marche-t-il?

Comment cela marche-t-il?
- Pour chaque commande, nous calculons le nombre d'arbres à planter :
- ex : 65€ via Mondial Relay = (65/20) + 1 = 3 + 1 = 4 arbres
- Toutes les 2 à 4 semaines, nous informons Tree-Nation du nombre d'arbres à planter.
- Si vous avez choisi de vous inscrire à notre liste de diffusion lors du paiement, vous recevrez un e-mail de Tree-Nation confirmant :
- l'espèce et l'emplacement des arbres à planter à votre nom
- que des arbres virtuels attendent également d'être plantés dans la forêt Flax & Stitch sous votre nom.
- vous pouvez également télécharger un certificat signé par le responsable du projet de plantation et contenant toutes les informations importantes sur l'arbre : l'espèce, l'emplacement, les informations sur le projet de plantation, les valeurs de compensation CO2 et bien plus encore.
- Si vous avez choisi de ne pas vous inscrire à notre liste de diffusion lors du paiement, soyez assuré que nous planterons toujours les arbres que vous avez gagnés via votre commande, mais le ferons dans un lot anonyme.
- Au fil du temps, grâce à votre soutien et à des contributions supplémentaires de notre part, nous pourrons tous observer la croissance de la forêt de Flax & Stitch et suivre la compensation de CO2 qu'elle génère.

- Elke 2-4 weken adviseren wij Tree-Nation hoeveel bomen er geplant moeten worden.
- Als je ervoor hebt gekozen om lid te worden van onze mailinglijst tijdens het afrekenen, ontvang je een e-mail van Tree-Nation waarin wordt bevestigd:
- de soort en locatie van de bomen die op uw naam worden geplant
- dat er onder jouw naam ook enkele virtuele bomen wachten om geplant te worden in het Flax & Stitch forest.
- ook kunt u een door de beheerder van het plantageproject ondertekend certificaat downloaden met daarin alle belangrijke informatie over de boom: de soort, standplaats, plantageprojectinformatie, CO2-compensatiewaarden en nog veel meer.
- Als je ervoor hebt gekozen om niet lid te worden van onze mailinglijst tijdens het afrekenen, wees dan gerust, we zullen nog steeds de bomen planten die je via je bestelling hebt verdiend, maar zullen dit in een anonieme batch doen.
- Na verloop van tijd zullen we, dankzij uw steun, plus aanvullende bijdragen van onze kant, allemaal in staat zijn om het vlas- en stekenbos in omvang te zien groeien en de CO2-compensatie die het genereert te volgen.
